French Country Recipe Box

As soon as I saw this French Country paper I knew I had to do something with it.

I think I may have said that before, but I absolutely love it.  The idea of doing a recipe box had been rolling about in the back of my mind for some time.

As my kitchen is blue, I first looked at the blue papers in the range, and played around with some ideas. My initial vision had been a recipe box covered in sunflowers and chickens! But alas, it was not to be, it would just not come together for me, as I was consistently drawn to the black papers.

Looking into the box. The “index” cards I plan to use inside the box are Donna Salazar, Kiss the Cook, A bit of this… and A dash of that…

I used Donna Salazar Kiss the Cook papers as the recipe cards.

I can see myself spending endless hours filling those recipe cards in!

My concern at the beginning of this project was that it would be living in the kitchen and I wanted something that would be easily wipe-able and with not too many protruding “bits”. I think I achieved this overall.

I had great fun creating this project.

Always remembered…

I have held onto this one for a while as it is still so close to my heart.
Prima Frame of Kael

Our beloved Golden Retriever, Kael. He will always have a place in our hearts, and a place in our home. This Prima Frame was exactly what I have been looking for to give him pride of place on our walls.

Shortly after we moved into our new home back in 2000 this young man was adopted to our family as a young pup. Unfortunately shortly after him moving him, he experienced some medical problems and ended up being hospitalised for a while.
He soon recovered and we happily brought him home along with his new friend, an abandoned ginger kitten, Kally Kat, who now rules the roost in our household. He wormed his way into all our hearts with his exuberant personality, his undying love, and devoted attention and loyalty.
Sadly he was only with us for 8 years before we had to have him put down, as it was the kinder thing to do.

Mixed Media

Dianne held a very exciting mixed media class last year, this picture of Kael was one that I decided to work on. The page was then shoved in the completed project drawer, (yes, I have one of those) until I found this Prima frame at Art of Craft. He now happily sits on the sideboard, watching over us.
We feel the love.

Prima Fairy Rhymes card set

Had a little fun recently putting some cards together with the Prima Fairy Rhymes papers that I had left over from my jewellery box venture.

Prima Fairy Rhymes Cards

Cards created out of the Prima Fairy Rhymes A4 paper stack.

I had great fun layering the images, all the paper goes together so nicely. Fussy cut flowers, butterflies and bunting for embellishments.
